Corporate sustainability encompasses the ongoing pursuit of prosperity, harmony, and continuous improvement. As we navigate changes in the environment, society, regulations, and stakeholder concerns, we are committed to advancing sustainable development.
Events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical developments, like those between Russia and Ukraine in 2022, have highlighted the impact of these occurrences on business operations and society. While the pandemic has posed significant challenges, it has also provided opportunities for transformation and innovation. We prioritize the health and safety of our employees, safeguarding their fundamental rights and interests. Additionally, geopolitical changes necessitate flexible decision-making for companies in response to global economic shifts.
Aligned with the United Nations' focus on resource and environmental protection, Ablerex Electronics actively develops innovative solar energy technologies and conducts research on energy storage systems. Our aim is to support governments, organizations, and society in evolving power supply equipment while enhancing energy efficiency and stability.
In light of climate change and global events like the COVID-19 pandemic, countries worldwide prioritize environmental and social sustainability. In recent years, Ablerex Electronics has actively developed large-scale energy storage systems, aligning with national policies. In 2022, our Pingtung factory's 1MW energy storage system became the first in the country to pass safety evaluations conducted by a third-party institution, the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre.
Ablerex Electronics has long been engaged in environmental conservation and social welfare, actively contributing to the well-being of our surroundings. By embodying the principles of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), we strive for well-rounded development in the realms of the environment, society, and governance. We commit ourselves to core business improvement, technological advancements, effective corporate governance, increased customer and shareholder satisfaction, corporate social responsibility, and sustainable development. With our mindset of "cherishing resources, sustainable operation" and the humanistic principle of "taking from society, using for society," we foster care for the environment and society. Through various social care projects aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we extend our support to Taiwan, as well as places like Medan, Indonesia. Refer to the social care section for further details.
Since voluntarily publishing our first Corporate Social Responsibility Report in 2015, we have continued to release annual ESG Sustainability Reports as mandated by legal amendments. Through these reports, we transparently present the company's operations and its performance in the environmental, social, and governance aspects. By using multiple indicators, we measure our efforts in promoting sustainable development and evaluate the appropriateness of our business policies. Overall, we ensure that our company addresses stakeholders' expectations and concerns. We remain committed to monitoring trends and policies related to corporate social responsibility, continuously striving for improvement.
In terms of sustainable development performance, Ablerex Electronics has actively enhanced its business quality since achieving rankings within the top 6% to 20% of Tpex listed companies in the initial Corporate Governance Evaluation of 2014. In subsequent evaluations, we have obtained top 5% rankings multiple times, although these rankings may vary over time. Nevertheless, our commitment to continuous improvement and sustainable operation principles remains unwavering. We aim to provide comprehensive information to all stakeholders and invite their participation in overseeing our progress through attention and communication. Consequently, we will continue publishing sustainability reports to underscore our dedication to corporate social responsibility. We hope that these reports foster empathy and collective progress among all partners and stakeholders.
